Muscat: Taameer Investment, a leading real estate developer in Oman, has recently appointed 'Hill International' as project manager for the five-star Dhofar beach resort project in Dhofar governorate in southern part of Oman.
The signing ceremony took place at Hill International regional office in Dubai.
The OMR1million contract was signed by Suleiman Masoud Al Harthy, chief executive of Taameer Investment and Mohammed Al Rais, Hill International Middle East senior vice-president and managing director.
Hill International, the global leader in managing construction risks, was awarded with three-year contract to provide management of design and construction services for the OMR60 million Dhofar beach resort project.
The five-start resort which is owned and developed by Taameer Investment has 300 hotel rooms capacity including 130 hotel rooms, 85 serviced apartments and 85 luxury villas.
The project will also consist of three restaurants, recreation facilities, water sports, multi-purpose hall, business center, retail shops, health club and ballroom facility for various events and activities on a total ground area of nearly 80,000 square metres.
"We have no doubt that having Hill International on board will support the overall coordination and management of our Dhofar Beach Resort project which when opened will re-shape the tourism industry in Dhofar governorate," said Al Harthy
Hill International, with 3,300 employees in 110 offices worldwide, provides programme management, project management, construction management and construction claims and consulting services.
'Engineering News-Record' magazine recently ranked Hill International as the eighth largest construction management firm in the United States.
