Oman heritage: Tender for Salut Fort renovation awarded

Muscat: A tender for renovation of Salut Fort in the Wilayat of Bahla has been awarded by the Office of Advisor for Cultural Affairs to His Majesty the Sultan to a local companies following issuance of the Royal Decree No. 8/2016, applying expropriation for the public interest, the project and its surrounding area in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah.
The site was approved and incorporated in the initial list of the international heritage committee as a step for registration of the site in the Unesco list of international cultural and natural heritage, in the future.
The site of Salut Fort and its surrounding area are considered one of the most important archeological sites in Oman.
