His Majesty Sultan Qaboos issues seven Royal Decrees

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said yesterday issued seven Royal decrees as follows:
Royal Decree No. 2/2017 ratifies the articles of association of the GCC Judiciary Economic Authority.
Article (1) ratifies the articles of association of the GCC Judiciary Economic Authority (based on the decision of GCC leaders during their 16th Consultancy Summit held in Jeddah City, Saudi Arabia on May 31, 2016) in accordance with the version attached to this decree.
Article (2) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 3/2017 promulgates the system (bylaw) of the Public Authority for Stores and Food Reserve.
Article (1) stipulates that the system (bylaw) attached to this decree shall apply to the Public Authority for Stores and Food Reserve.
Article (2) states that the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Stores and Food Reserve shall issue the regulations and decisions necessary for the implementation of this law. Till such a time, the regulations and decisions in force shall continue to be applied without prejudice to the provisions of the above-mentioned system.
Article (3) cancels all that contravenes this decree or contradicts with its provisions.
Article (4) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and takes effect from the day following its date of publishing.
Royal Decree No. 4/2017 ratifies the agreement on cooperation in the field of civil defence between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed in Abu Dhabi City on September 6, 2016.
Article (1) ratifies the above-mentioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree.
Article (2) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 5/2017 approves Oman’s joining the 1995 Grains Trade Convention (GTC).
Article (1) approves the Sultanate of Oman’s joining the 1995 GTC in accordance with the version attached to this decree.
Article (2) instructs the departments concerned to deposit the document pertinent to the above-mentioned agreement in accordance with its provisions.
Article (3) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 6/2017 ratifies the agreement on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of income tax financial evasion signed by the Sultanate of Oman and Hungary in Muscat City on November 2nd, 2016.
Article (1) ratifies the above-mentioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree.
Article (2) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and takes effect from its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 7/2017 ratifies the agreement on mutual waiving of visas for holders of diplomatic, special and service passports signed by the Sultanate of Oman and the Tunisian Republic in Muscat City on December 14, 2016.
Article (1) ratifies the above-mentioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree.
Article (2) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
Royal Decree No. 8/2017 appoints some non-resident ambassadors.
Article (1) appoints Saleh bin Sulaiman bin Ahmed Al Harthy, Oman’s Ambassador to Kenya, as the Sultanate’s non-resident Ambassador to Uganda and Rwanda.
Article (2) appoints Sheikh Hamad bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Rawahi, Oman’s Ambassador to India, as the Sultanate’s non-resident Ambassador to Singapore, Afghanistan and the Seychelles.
Article (3) appoints Mubarak bin Salim bin Ali Al Zakwani, Oman’s Ambassador to South Africa,
as the Sultanate’s non-resident Ambassador to Zimbabwe and Angola.
Article (4) states that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
