Muscat: ‘Scenes from a Journey, Oman Qaboos,’ a book showcasing the life and achievements of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, as gleaned from his personal website, was launched by Oman’s Minister of Information yesterday.

“We held a celebration this morning under the auspices of Dr. Abdul Munim bin Mansour al-Hasni, the Minister of Information, to launch the book in the presence of some officials who had lent support,” said Hamoud Mohammed Al Azri, General Supervisor of the personal website of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.

The book aims to acquaint the reader with important highlights from His Majesty’s personal website, where his life and achievements have been showcased.

Translated into 30 different languages, the website has played a major role in disseminating information about Oman and His Majesty to the rest of the world.

The 160-page book has been published in Arabic and English. Its copies will be sent to heads of states and other officials, especially to countries in whose language the website has been translated to.

The book contains a supplement featuring pictures that narrate the success story of the Sultanate. These were all made possible by the wholehearted cooperation extended by all the accredited embassies in the Sultanate to help translate the biography of His Majesty. The book gives a broader picture of the initiatives taken by the Sultanate in global matters, including those launched on the occasion of the 46th National Day. Special pages have been devoted to some of the great leaders and people who have contributed efforts and time in translating it with the support of the accredited embassies.
